lectrospun Chitosan Nanofibers for Biomolecule Immobilization

Christ HA, Daniel NP, Solarczek J, Menzel H. Application of electrospun chitosan-based nanofibers as immobilization matrix for biomolecules. Appl Microbiol Biotechnol. 2023;107:7071-7087. doi: 10.1007/s00253-023-12777-w.

This study developed biotinylated chitosan nanofibers for enzyme immobilization, ensuring high catalytic activity and stability. Immobilized eugenol oxidase maintained function for 7 days and enabled continuous vanillin production. These findings highlight chitosan nanofibers as promising materials for biosensors and biocatalysis.
