KitoZyme sa is a spin-off of the University of Liège located in Herstal, near Liège in Belgium, since it was set up in late December 2000. The company was founded to capitalise on the great potential offered by eight years of research in the field of vegetal biopolymer extraction.

Six years of development and over €7 million of investment later, the KitoZyme team now comprises 22 individuals and produces innovative, environmentally friendly fungal biopolymers manufactured nowhere else in the world.
